Acceptable use
One rule matters more than the rest: what this produces is a record for yourself, and it is not to be used in a review, a complaint, a negotiation or a dispute.
Who operates this site
Snaglist is a trading name. The company behind it, its registered number and its registered office are published in full on the legal information page, and on that page only.
Not for arguments
This is the clause that matters most here, so it is first.
What this service produces is a record for yourself. It may not be used:
- in a public review of anybody, anywhere;
- as the basis of, or as an attachment to, a complaint about anybody;
- in a negotiation over price, over remedial work, or over anything else;
- as evidence in any dispute, arbitration, adjudication, mediation or court proceedings;
- as a report about a property presented to anybody as an assessment of it.
The reason is not commercial. This service judges nothing: it does not decide that anything falls short, it cites no standard, it gives no tolerance and it has not looked at your property. A document that decides nothing cannot support an argument, and presenting it as though it could would mislead whoever was shown it.
If what you need is something that will stand up in a dispute, this is the wrong tool, and no setting here will make it the right one.
Not for these decisions
Nothing produced here is to be used for, or relied on in, decisions about:
- medical matters;
- legal matters;
- financial matters;
- safety-critical matters, including anything structural, electrical or to do with gas;
- employment;
- credit;
- housing, in the sense of deciding whether a person may live somewhere;
- anything before a court or tribunal.
Where a description mentions something structural, electrical or gas-related, the list itself will say to note the location and leave the judgement to a qualified person attending in person. That is not a formality — it is the correct answer.
Nobody gets named
Do not use this service to gather material about a named developer, contractor, site or development, and do not present its output as being about one. No name of that kind appears anywhere in what it produces, and adding one to it and passing it on as our output is not permitted.
We do not evaluate, rate or rank anybody, and we do not host anything that does.
The ordinary prohibitions
You may not use the service to break the law, to infringe anybody's rights, to harass or threaten anybody, or to produce anything defamatory.
You may not use it to impersonate anybody, including us.
You may not attempt to get round rate limits, allowances or access controls; scrape it; reverse engineer it; resell access to it; or run automated traffic against it.
You may not attempt to make it produce a verdict, a standard, a tolerance or a time limit. It will not, and trying to talk it into one is a use we will act on.
What happens if this is breached
Depending on what has happened, we may write to you, suspend the account, or close it. Where an account is closed for a breach that was not deliberate, any unused paid period is refunded.
