What the model does here, what it never does, and where the list can be wrong.

Who operates this site

Snaglist is a trading name. The company behind it, its registered number and its registered office are published in full on the legal information page, and on that page only.

01

What this produces

A list for a new-home handover, organised by kind rather than by room, which puts first the things that get covered up and can therefore only be looked at now. Alongside it, a card per kind saying what angle to photograph it from and how to write down where something was.

It is neither a survey nor an assessment of any property. Nothing has been looked at, measured or inspected.

02

It judges nothing

This is the most important thing on this page.

The service does not say that anything fails, falls short or must be put right. It cites no standard and it gives no tolerance, because acceptance standards and responsibilities differ greatly from one place to another and none of that is knowable from a sentence.

Its wording is always that something is worth noting. Note where it is and take a picture. Whether it is something that gets put right is between you and whoever handed you the keys — this does not judge it.

In the interface, "noted" is not an error marker and must not be read as meaning that something is wrong. It is deliberately violet rather than red for exactly that reason. There is no red anywhere on this site, and there is no count of problems or defects anywhere in the product: the interface will tell you how many of a kind you have walked, never how many things were found.

03

It gives no time limit

The service explains no warranty, no reporting route and no complaints process, and it gives no time limit of any kind.

Where it says something can only be looked at now, that is a physical matter: furniture will stand on the floor, a wardrobe will go against the wall, boxes will stack against the window reveals, and sealing only shows what it is doing after rain. This is about what gets covered up, not about any deadline. Whether there is a time limit on anything, and what it is, is not something this covers.

The five-year period mentioned in the terms is the window for bringing a claim about your subscription to this service. It has no bearing whatever on your property or on anything on your list.

04

It makes no structural or safety judgement

Cracks, settlement, load-bearing elements, electrical matters and anything to do with gas are outside what this covers entirely. Write down where it is and leave it there. Anything structural, electrical or gas-related needs a qualified person to look at it in person.

Where your description mentions any of those, the wording on that row is stripped back to recording only and that line is added to it.

Nothing on this list needs a ladder, a tool, or opening anything.

05

It names nobody

No developer, contractor or development is named anywhere on this site or in anything it produces. None is evaluated, rated or ranked, and no surveyor or solicitor is recommended or introduced.

06

What the model actually does

One job: turning your sentence into the shape of a property — how many bedrooms, how many bathrooms, how many floors, whether there is a door of your own to outside.

It does not decide what goes on your list. It does not decide what order the list comes out in. It does not decide what is worth noting, and it never decides whether anything is right or wrong. All of that comes from a fixed table in the code, and the list is assembled in your browser.

Where no model is configured by the operator, the same sorting is done in your browser by reading the sentence directly, and the result is the same list. That path works with no network at all.

Your description is not used to train any model.

07

Where it can be wrong

Counts are what a place of the shape you described would usually have, and they will not always match. If your kitchen has eleven cupboard doors and the row says ten, the row is wrong and your kitchen is right — walk the eleventh anyway.

The sorting can misread an unusual sentence. The list will still be a list of kinds, and walking it will still be better than walking room by room, but check the counts against what is actually there.

Three things it cannot know at all: the actual condition of your property, how things are normally done where you are, and what your contract says.

08

No photographs

The service accepts no image uploads. Photographs you take stay on your own device.

That is a decision, not an omission. The moment a service accepts a photograph of somebody's property, it is being asked whether what is in the photograph is acceptable — and this never says that about anything.

09

Not for high-risk uses

Nothing produced here is to be used for or relied on in medical, legal, financial, safety, employment, credit, housing or judicial decisions, and it is not to be used in a review, a complaint, a negotiation or any dispute.
